How to convert an EPUB to PDF online
Upload your EPUB book
Drag the .epub file you want to convert, or click to select it from your computer.
The server converts it with Calibre
Your EPUB is securely uploaded to our server, which uses Calibre to lay it out as a print-ready PDF. There's no way to read and write this format with the browser alone, which is why this step needs a server.
Download your PDF
As soon as the conversion finishes, you download the new PDF and your original file is deleted from our server.
Why convert your EPUB to PDF on PDFDocks?
Unlike the PDF tools on this site, converting an EPUB to PDF does require uploading the file to our server, because this format cannot be read or written using only JavaScript in the browser. We do this with Calibre, the same free and open-source e-book conversion engine used by thousands of digital libraries. We prefer to be transparent about this rather than hide it: your file is uploaded, processed with Calibre on our server, and deleted immediately after conversion (or if it fails). We don't keep copies, don't use them for anything else, and you don't need to create an account or install Calibre yourself on your computer to get the same result.
Will formatting be preserved?
+
The file is uploaded to our server because it's necessary to process it with Calibre, but it's deleted immediately after conversion. We don't keep copies or share them with anyone.
Why does this tool upload the file, unlike PDF tools?
+
Because there's no way to read and write EPUB format using only JavaScript in the browser. Converting it requires Calibre, which can only run on a server.
Do I need to install Calibre on my computer?
+
PDFDocks typically uses standard sizes like A4 or Letter. You can select during conversion.
Do I need to create an account to use this tool?
+
Your file is processed on our secure servers. We don't retain documents.
Is the book's formatting preserved in the conversion?
+
Calibre restructures the content to lay it out as fixed PDF pages, preserving the text, images, and overall structure of the book.
How long does the conversion take?
+
Usually a few seconds, although it may vary depending on the book's size and the server load at that moment.
