Why remove metadata from your photos on PDFDocks?
Every photo you take with your phone usually carries much more hidden information than you'd imagine: the exact GPS location where it was taken, your device's model, the precise date and time, and even the software used. This information, called EXIF metadata, travels inside the file itself even though it's not visible in the image, and gets shared automatically when you upload the photo to many websites or send it to someone. PDFDocks removes this metadata directly in your browser, without uploading the image to any server: by redrawing the photo onto a canvas and exporting it again, all that hidden information disappears from the file, while the visible image doesn't change at all.
Is it safe to remove metadata with PDFDocks?
+
Yes. Your image is never uploaded to a server: metadata is removed directly in your browser.
What exact information gets removed?
+
All EXIF information is removed: GPS location, camera or phone brand and model, exact date and time, and other technical data hidden in the file.
Does it change how my photo looks?
+
No, the image looks exactly the same. Only the hidden information that isn't visible is removed.
Why is it important to remove this information before sharing a photo?
+
Because it can reveal where you live, where you work, or the places you visit regularly without you realizing it, simply by uploading a photo online.
Is there a limit on size or number of images?
+
We haven't set any artificial limits. The only real limit is the memory available on your device.
Do I need to install any software?
+
No, it works directly from your browser, on both computer and mobile.
