Old Kindle MOBI (Mobipocket) files don't open comfortably on all devices or with any reader, whereas PDF is practically universal. Converting to PDF requires uploading the file to our server, because MOBI can't be read with just JavaScript in the browser — we process it with Calibre, the world's most widely used free and open-source e-book conversion engine. Your file is automatically deleted right after conversion, with no copy remaining on our server.

Why does this tool upload the file?

Because reading the MOBI format and generating a PDF requires Calibre, which can only run on a server, not directly in your browser.
Is my MOBI private?

No. If the file has DRM protection (common in books purchased from online stores), the conversion cannot be completed, as Calibre does not remove DRM protections.
Is the book's formatting preserved in the conversion?
